To whom it may concern,

My name is Michael Wadman. I am a 32 year old union laborer who hasn't had much luck at finding work. This imposed exile from employment has given me alot of time to think and watch alot of TV. Having always sensed a deep division in this country, I never knew how to express it. Now checking out occupy for the last 6 months I see this could be our only way to change the course of this country. I feel it won't be done by either political party and good luck with a third party. Well what I am trying to say is what can I do to help? I don't have alot of money but a strong back, a loud voice and a willingness to help others is all I have. Thank you for your time.

You can help in tons of ways. We have groups of people working with neighborhoods all over Chicago with tons of types of work. We have people working on Education, Direct Action, Internal Organization, and lots more. You might be interested in working with our Labor Committee. Information on this can be found here:

I would also suggest coming to one of our general assemblies, where we do proposals, voting, announcements, soap box, etc.. We hold GAs four evenings each week. GAs are held Mon, Weds, Fri, Sat at Grant park, in front of the Native American Horse statue, by the Congress Hotel, at 7pm. More info on GAs here:

Also, I feel important to say, wether you do or don't have money does not matter to Occupy. We believe America has entered a stage where it puts corporations over people. While big banks get bailed out, thousands of houses get foreclosed on. While people starve on the streets our govermnet spends $444 billion dollars in The Afghanistan war. What we really need to fix atrocities like this is not money. It is action, organization, education. This country was created by the people, for the people. It is time the people took it back.
