I am posting this on behalf of the 4/9/12 GA

GA Location
After much confusion on GA location, the GA would like to keep the location at HQ. If the group is large enough, there will be a temp check to march to the Horse for GA.

I can't attend GA during the week so I'll be unable to vote but let me just suggest that this would be a big mistake.

The few Ga's I have been to at J&L were very poorly facilitated due partially to the location itself.

- People don't seem to like doing the human mic which makes hearing people very difficult when traffic passes by.

- We had set in stone back in September that the front of the GA would be kept clear of everyone except the moderator, stack taker and time keeper. This was to help keep people from being influenced by hand signals that would be happening right next to a speaker while they spoke, its very difficult to keep that separation when we are crammed on a street corner. We also wanted to keep this space clear to prevent the idea that there was some "secret leadership". Inevitably certain people tend to congregate near the front of the GA.

- This cuts down on our public presence. Back in September we didn't walk or meet at the horse, we marched. This created a public spectacle in the loop every night there was a GA. The Horse is also more visible. You are more likely to attract on lookers in that open area than on a street corner.
