Occupy Chicago

I'm comin out tomorrow and I'm gonna be super bummed if nobody is there. I wanna do somethin, this is a peaceful protest right? What the fuck happened? As someone who has been a part of occupy for a really long time, I wanna know what happened. I'm young, 15 god damn years old, and im tryin to fuckin do somethin! It's been a while since I've been to occupy because I was sick and tired of goin and only seeing like 3 people. What is that shit? Where is everyone? Doesn't anyone remember the beginning of this? When thousands of people would show up or at least a good 50 who were always there. It's not even a protest anymore. 3 people can't change shit by standing on a corner. You look like random pedestrians waiting to cross the street. This sounds bitter, I'm not trying to be though. I just want this man, I thought everyone who used to be here wanted it too. But where are they now?

They are tired and bored.... because the movement... refuses to adopt leaders... or push for real solutions.
if you.. are looking for real solutions to fight for... consider my platform.
at 15... you may not be able to run for office... but you can study and learn... and educate others... you can lead... if you know what to lead for.. and what to fight for.. and why.
I would ask you... to study my website... it will RE-EDUCATE YOU... and empower you to understand what has happenned... i.e.. how it got this way... AND HOW WE CAN FIX IT..... THATS IMPORTANT.

People get bored, because the leaders of the OWS.. are fund raising... to keep protesting.. and refuse to hear real solution plans, as it would require... their.. Re-education, and they think ... they have it handled, and clearly they do not.

No one is at LaSalle and Jackson anymore. You can find the OC honchos in their clubhouse at 500
W. Cermak. If I were you, I would find a more worthwhile organization to align yourself with. I appreciate your passion at a young age. Don't waste it, just find an organization that actually walks the walk.

tweety. it's not entirely true to say that NO ONE is at Jackson & LaSalle 'cause there are some folks there at times. give it up for those folks.

check out OC twitter. at least two calls today on twitter for showing up at J&L.

agree, what is up with the people that populate cermak most often. what the heck are they doing. why are people who have the circumstances to be most involved ignoring the OC forum? would be nice if everyone could be in the loop. it is very strange to me that people are not using this OC public forum. madness.

people are posting here and looking for places to get put up, in MAY. no one answers, so far. does anyone have any hostels to recommend or other ideas? or an information link or something that best serves people coming in from out of town? we need some simple information for these folks. my simple direction to them is to go to Jackson and LaSalle.

anyone attempting to communicate using this forum should copy and save before attempting to post it. this forum is buggy and will sign you out on a whim as you are trying to post. people have asked for months that this be fixed. last i heard ONLY TWO people are doing tech work on this forum. i know that folks have offered to pitch in with the work. please, tech, take the help and get this forum in order. we need to have this working well. or we need another forum.

spring is here. the occupation is not leaving. all kinds of people have all kinds of ideas. create your own occupation if you don't like the current direction that you see.

what happened on the vote to take GA back outside? i think that it was "back to the horse" at Congress and Michigan early April. what is the word. did this pass? also, tweety, check the OC facebook page. there is just posted an action planned at the FED April 14. if this gets talked about enough it will get a big crowd. (don't forget to copy your posts)

The proposal to move the GA back outside passed. It will begin again April 7.

I'd like to give it up to Jeff. He's the man. He's out there all the time and he has so much passion. He may not have any idea but I think he's great and his emotions related to this movement really inspire me to be as big of a part of this as i can be. And I thank him for making those signs.

Tweety, you seem like a good dude. I do appreciate the one guy standing at J & L but he is pretty much. To my dismay, this whole organization has died. They keep putting things on their FB page but no one posts anything more, maybe a few likes, less than 40. That is pathetic. And, alot of people are having probs with OC, like the whole Jessie Jackson thing, the stupid art thing, yoga and the concert that they cancelled. I don't do art or yoga, I just want o protest. They dis anyone that says anything negative about OC. Really to the point of being paranoid and aggressive. I really doubt OC will be around after May. Chicago is huge and we can't get anything going. It's sad but I think it's over man.

Jeff is an inspiring person. More Occupiers should take the time to talk to him, he doesn't fit the demographic they are most interested in so he's been ignored. But he has carried us through the winter on his own dime. He also has the heartbeat of the city and knows how to stay on point. Thank you Tweety for recognizing this amazing one man occupation.

So, Quincy, what are you doing in regard to protest? Like I said earlier, if you don't like the direction that you see take it upon yourself to make something happen. That's all we can do. Find folks that think like you do. We/they are out here.

So what am i going to do? Absolutely nothing with OC. The last straw was when I read on this website how much Cermak costs, it's hardly ever used anymore except for a few watching porn...nice.

Admit it, this protest in Chicago is dead. Look at this website, hardly anyone posts anything anymore. Same with FB, you keep putting shit up there about April 7th and you get a few likes and that is it. Yoga, poetry, and art, what is this fuckin summer camp?

You say you are leaderless but your not. You say you are peaceful but you have NO problem with throwing shit at some cops who are part of the 99%. You protect the cabbies but because of one of them, I limp and have a perm scar on my face. Oh yeah, he fled the country. I got fuckin beat up on this page when I spoke of my feelings. Like to see one of you go through what I went through and not have a problem wth the cabbies.

Some of you are on drugs, you beat up on each other and pretty much attack anyone that question some of your believes. So, yeah I'm pretty much done with all of you. I'll concentrate on my art, friends, family and will work hard. Best of luck to you all.
