On January 25, 2012, 21 persons from across the U.S. joined the weekly WomenOccupy conference call. The call was filled with mostly female-identified participants who spoke about their experiences of being in the Occupy Wall Street movement.

As a male, even though I was abused as a child (which I need not get into), I can only sympathize with the plight of so many women abused at the hands (and other parts, sorry to mention) of men.

Not all men are violent against men, right? But many men are violent against women. Why is that? It is because they are deeply afraid inside.

Men are taught through various outlets, male peers most of all, to be "strong" and "macho" and to "get what they want". When they find that they can not live up to that sick "Rambo" standard they strike out at the most vulnerable people they can find: children and women.

Too many men are simply ignorant and dumb and afraid. Mostly afraid. Violent men are afraid of perceptions of themselves. Violent men are fearful men.

To hell with fear! I no longer care what other men think of me. Am I considered a wimp? So what? I am stronger than that now. I have grown up. I see women as equals, and as sometimes better than me. So what? But that is just me.

I HAVE NO ADVICE though, unfortunately. Except for advising you to learn martial arts and to carry pepper spray.

Remember that a guy's most vulnerable spot is his testicles. Kick them hard, and he will fall!

Good luck. Stay in groups or at least in twos.

I am just venting because I hate bigots and homophobes.
