Celebrate 3-Month Anniversary of Occupy Wall Street & Demand Justice for Bradley Manning, Alleged Wikileaker
Sat 12/17
12pm: Meet Federal Plaza (Adams and Dearborn)

DECEMBER 17th is the 3-month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. OWS was inspired not only by the rip-offs of the 99% by the 1%, but by the lack of transparency in government and the private sector that facilitated these rip-offs.

DECEMBER 17th is also the birthday of alleged Wikileaker Bradley Manning. It is also the day after Manning begins his first pre-trial hearing after more than a year and half in prison. If the allegations against him are true, then rather than being incarcerated, Bradley Manning should be celebrated as a true hero for forcing transparency on the war crimes committed by the United States, and exposing the dirty dealings of the Bush and Obama administrations with brutal dictators around the world.

Wow! What on earth is your target? Your own foot? Regardless of what you or I think about Manning or Wikileaks, this is hardly a 99 percent issue. I personally would like to see a march in remeberance of Terrence McKenna and in support of the pursuit for higher consciousness, but it wouldn't make any sense. Protestors have put their lives at risk in North Africa, the Middle East, and Russia for democracy while our democracy is on life support. Governors in a dozen states are disenfranchising voters, taking away the right to vote and that isn't a priority issue for you? What about the problem at the heart of so many of the country's problems: Getting private money out of the political process. What about tax reform and the financial transaction tax? And why focus on Rahm or Obama, instead of the systemic problems. I'm trying to get my friends who work in offices downtown and my siblings in the suburbs to participate because they share my concerns about social and economic injustice. Give me, give the 99 percent something to work with. Either you are incredibly out of touch with the 99 percent or the right wing has infiltrated your organization and is urging you to take up issues that are going to completely turn off thousands of would-be supporters. And I thought Obama was a disappointment.
