Coffee Supply

Postby Themanwiththeplan » Wed Dec 07, 2011 5:27 pm

I've been bringing food and coffee nearly every weekday for the last 2 & a half months. I usually come by at 6:30 AM on my way to work, however the last couple of days there was nobody there. What time does Occupy Chicago occupy?

That's odd. And nice of you to be bringing the coffee. Send a tweet and I'll bet you get a quick answer.

Hey again, plan man

Just as I was thinking. "Winter hours" are in affect at HQ, from 7:00 a.m. till 11 p.m. There had been talk of this because of the oncoming hideous weather that we will soon be having (and already are having especially in the a.m.). I just read a confirmation of the hours in another forum posting. Surprised that no one mentioned this too you during one of your kind early morning visists. I think that you are cool.

I get the hours. It's damn cold but there really is no way I could wait till 7 and I really doubt it's a good idea to leave a jug and a grocery bag on the sidewalk by the FED. Suggestions?

This is so nice of you!! I believe they will be across the street from the Dearborn address, in a church they call Grace Place. I don't know the official address or name of the church - hopefully you can find it or someone else can reply. I'm sure they appreciate the coffee & food! :P

The "Winter Hours" policy is something that was only a rumour of uncertain origins that members of OC gave the authoritativeness of fact - as in, "Haven't you heard about Winter Hours?" or "Did you hear about Winter Hours?" etc - but was never passed by GA or any other authoritative body. If no one chooses to take that shift of occupation then no one is there.
As recently as two weeks ago Seth - and who ever else - was staying at HQ all night as much as he could (I was away for a week and a half so I don't know if he's been doing it since). He can't do it always and if none of the other guys choose to that's OK. It's not their responsibility, it is ours, that of the rest of us, that we are abdicating.
Mary McMahon, myself and several others are starting a working group to uphold and reinforce La Salle and Jackson and we will be asking people to sign up for 2,4 and 6 hour shifts.
