Announcement of upcoming action in DC

I would like to make an announcement at the next GA about something really amazing happening in DC on the 29th.  It's called "Enough is Enough! Speak out at the Capitol!"  It's a chance for citizens to speak openly on the grounds of the capitol building, it's hosted by the coffee party which is sympathetic, and their mission statement is, and I quote:


"Do you refuse to consent to being ruled by billionaires & "corporate persons"? Then, join us. Let's stand together and speak out: "Enough is enough! Democracy in America will not die on my watch."

Enough is Enough Rally will be an open mic event that puts We the People front and center. We are hoping that hundreds of people sign up to speak and thousands attend so that it becomes a citizens' filibuster on the West Front Lawn of the US Capitol. Over 350 people have already signed up to speak coming from all across the country. "

 

I signed up to speak, and I think many of us should as well.  We should try and bus/road trip down there, I'm originally from there and we could totally crash at my mom's house, she has extra rooms galore.

Furthermore, I think we should reach out to other occupy groups and get them to sign up to speak, and see if we can't meet our compatriots across the country there for an opportunity to network and exchange ideas/organizational methods/tactics.

Finally, after the event, on Monday, a group of people from this event is marching down to the offices of congress to present a list of demands.  If we could have that list finalized by then, it would be awesome.  If we could coordinate with other occupy movements to present a unified, national set of demands, this could be a watershed moment for our movement.  We have a month to organize this.  I will do whatever it takes to get this kicked off.

I'm officially proposing that we attempt to go to DC for that weekend as a group, reach out to other occupy groups to encourage them to come (obviously occupy DC will be there, but if we can get occupy wall st and other cities that would be ideal), and to attempt to present a unified, national list of demands to congress, in person.
