On Friday the national unemployment statistics will be released by the Labor Department, detailing how many of our friends and neighbors are now without work. As a response the local Jobs With Justice chapter will be hosting a rally and march to highlight the dire unemployment situation and draw attention to the needs of the 99%. The rally begins at 12pm on Friday at 100 W. Randolph (Thompson Center/State of IL Building), just a few blocks north of the occupation, and the march will be down LaSalle St to meet up and join Occupy Chicago.
I propose that the General Assembly endorse the action to highlight unemployment in America, and march north to participate in the rally and demonstrations before returning back for the 3pm G.A.
Jobs With Justice is a firm ally of the 99% movement and the Chicago occupation. On Friday the executive director and members of the local chapter marched with us and attended the evening G.A., and the conclusion of their action is to come and join us. These are our friends, fighting the same fight that we are, and we should support them. (Especially since they are coming to support us!)
