I'm not on the Education committee this is just a general suggestion / idea for you guys. (it kinda walks the line between education and outreach but I think it's primary function is education)

I think as we gain knowledge and educate ourselves we may want to consider sharing that knowledge. Possibly doing "classes" or "workshops" off site from the protest. Allow people to come out and just learn some things about our government / economic structure. They don't have to be in favor of our protest they don't have to participate. It's just a workshop so they can learn some things.

It's good to share knowledge with the community.

I agree with this.  I think it would be excellent if we could find some sort of economist or economics student who would be interested in teaching us exactly how CDOs work and how they contributed to the bubble and the Recession of 2008.

This should be a main focus of concern. This movement is most importantly about education and discussion. People need immediate access to educational tools and informative material to be able to understand, discuss, and form opinion about the very complex issues at hand.

I know the art committee was discussing this today as well, so anyone interested in doing teaching, etc. might want to get a hold of them too, since I don't see a response on here from the education committee yet

Anyone interested/have any ideas for media workshops please stop by our meeting at 9pm on Saturday at the occupation. I also think we should consider screening some related documentaries/films for free...perhaps at the Gene Siskel (need SAIC outreach people for this) or elsewhere

Also, I am going to try to get some informational videos going that can go out to colleges (for example, at SAIC we have monitors in all of our halls that these can be played on). I need some help with the content. What kind of information should we put in these?

If you have any ideas please send them to hmarti2@saic.edu
