I didn't see a thread like this anywhere.

And now I do.

Problem solved.

In here, we brainstorm.

How can we make this movement even better?! Anything! This isn't meant to be a mega serious discussion/argument/proposal...think of it like a white board. You've got the marker, there's infinite white board space.

Rules:

1. Be nice!!

2. If you're making a serious contribution, say so!

3. If you're not making a serious contribution, say so! Be mindful that sarcasm doesn't read the same way that it sounds in your head!

Ideas for the movement!

I think we should camp at the Daley Center.

Pros:

-Around the clock exposure.

-Plenty of room for people to walk up and talk to us.

-Get to hang out by the Picasso sculpture.

-We can set up tents and stuff like a market.

-We can probably work with the people at the random markets and stuff (oh you want some fresh produce? Here. Take this pamphlet... and throw it out over there).

-It's downtown.

-It's near a bunch colleges.

-I suggested it.

Cons:

-Cement is hard and cold.

-Not a ton of room.

-Pretty busy during the day. We don't want to hold people up if they don't want to be held up.

-Rahm might not go for it.

-Annoyed police officers.

I think we should probably add "annoyed police officers" to everyone's cons.

I started this thread to brighten everyone's mood- I think we need a bit (more) of fun around here. This is a serious forum, and I think we need a bit of a break from the seriousness.

Ideas for the movement!

I am NOT making a serious contribution here.

I would move getting to hang out by the Picasso into the con section.  That thing is a fucking eyesore.

I'd also add annoying the cops to the pros category.  There would be poetry in a bunch of protesters getting their heads cracked in the plaza named after the man responsible for 68 democratic convention thuggery.

Make some signs demanding Texas be kicked out of the union, because screw Texas.

Arm occupiers with water balloons and tissue papers filled with flour.  It will make the next clash with police both hilarious and more annoying.  Flour Power!!

Here is a serious idea for the movement!

When a vote is taken 10% can block it. Add amendment to rules that "For the 10% to block a yes vote 10% of the No's must have attended at least 1 committee meeting proposing the vote."

We are the 99% that can't attend every GA

I think we should remove the wheels from all of the shopping carts at Jewel to bring Bank of America to there knees!!! If people can't bring the carts out of Jewel BOA cannot make a profit!

Tree head + Joe=
I like your style.

As a precondition to any seious discussion, I, as president of the sovereign nation of Andwee, require that coffee, donuts/Oreos, water/milk/soy milk be provided. I will throw in.

I move to require a mandatory group hug upon the passing or vetoing of any decision, anywhere, always. As a precondition to said group hug, all participants shall be required to be sufficiently bathed and deodorized.

I move to require that the occupation/GA not begin discussing proposals before 11 am on Saturday's. No good decisions can be made before 11am on Saturdays as data clearly shows.

On a serious note, I think that the 90% vote thing is a bit overly restrictive and can lead to an unresponsive, overly complicated decision making process.
