If we decide to occupy Grant Park again this coming Saturday -and certain logistical needs are met- I want to set up across the street in a room at the Congress hotel (the sooner we know the answer to this, the sooner we can start ironing out details with the hotel itself).

Primary camera pointed out the window at protest and potential arrests (keep filming until the last person is gone, in this case) to a high quality PC (I can provide).

Laptop 1 in corner of primary camera's frame, pointing back at reporters/news readers with its own camera viewed in fullscreen mode (local only, leaves bandwidth free for livestream and incoming reports).

People on the ground dedicated to feeding direct intel.  Again depending on logistics, we are looking for ways to do "live remotes" from the ground (and now, back to you in the studio… :9).

Another laptop with information feeding in from the ground and a handful of researchers coolating information coming in across social networks, etc (now lets pause to hear an update on…).

We can put together high production quality looking live coverage of the protests this way.  This would provide those unwilling to face arrest a way to help!

The workers at Congress Hotel are on strike and have been for 8 years.  Please do not get a room in that hotel.  It would not be good for our movement to cross a picket line in order to get footage of our actions.

Noted and accepted (IBEW and only moved away 6 months ago, brain=old).  If I'd gone past in daytime, I'd have known better :9.

I know we might have strained relations with Roosevelt, but that would be an equally valid option if they are willing (we'd love their students to help, even!).  The Chicago Club isn't a likely bet.

As a former Columbia student and resident of the Buckingham, that would be an option, but you just barely can't see the horse statue from the penthouse and that's a way long throw and would feel too detached and distant, anyways.

 

Suggestions are certainly welcome at this point.

I'd be willing to help on this.  Do we have any Roosevelt students in OC that could tell us more about that building and gaining access to it?

 

Also, at GA last night a Photo/Video group was announced, so if this project is going to happen, we should get them involved too.

On that note, any word on what it cost to clean up the damages to Roosevelt?  Apparently we're sitting on $10k in donations and it might go a long way to pay for cleaning up the graffitti.

I'm not sure, this post asked for help in cleaning it up.  I do not know how that effort turned out.
