GA Format Collapse

Last night's GA was a total cluster fuck. Regardless of how you felt about the issues being discussed, if you were there, you would probably agree that there was a serious collapse in format. People were unclear on procedure, people were making things up as they went along, and a few people were INCREDIBLY disrespectful of the moderator. Even those who can usually be relied upon to clarify format (because it is their responsibility, or because they make a point of knowing such things), were uncertain.

Where can I find these revisions to format that I kept hearing about last night? A fifteen minute break? All votes done at the end of the meeting? Are these rules merged with the old rules anywhere? (Those changes, by the way, are pretty awful, and should be undone). I think we need an updated version of our total format posted somewhere, and quick. And, apparently, we need some sort of procedure for "counter proposals," or rants that purport themselves to be counter proposals.

I personally think that we should REALLY be using the sticky feature on the forums so that every thread has the rules of certain things like this. I mean, thats only what every single forum I've been to has done. I'm willing to be a mod on the forums but when I spoke to someone from tech, they weren't interested.

I'm getting more than a little frustrated at how constantly I see some variation on "I offered to volunteer my time and talents to the movement and was told no" only to turn around and hear the excuse made over and over that not enough people volunteer.
