I am writing you because Teamsters Local 743 represents workers at Sacred Heart Hospital on the West Side of Chicago. For the last several months we have been struggling to get a fair and just contract negotiated for our members at Sacred Heart. The Hospital is offering no wage increases and they are threatening to take away the reimbursement for health insurance. These employees make between $9 and $12 per hour. These are hard working men and women struggling to survive these hard economic times.

In order to put pressure on hospital management I am organizing a prayer vigil for outside the entrance of the hospital. This is where you all come in! In order to be successful we need to show the hospital management that we are serious and we will not back down until a truly fair contract is negotiated.
