OWS Research request for personal contact
To whom it may concern,
Hello, my name is Martin Leggett. I am working with two other Master’s of Public Administration Principal Researchers out of Clark University in Worcester, MA. Their names are Kelley Crawford and Connor Joyce.
We (the Principal Researchers) are conducting a graduate research project that will draw primary data from over 30 of the largest Occupation Sites in the United States. Through hundreds of questionnaires and personal interviews we seek not only to understand the movement and add to the academic body of knowledge regarding social/revolutionary movements, but also to explore the long-term goals, sustainability, resource development/acquisition and strategies of the OWS movement.
Though many of the encampments have broken down or been forcibly removed by police, there still seems to be an exceptional amount of activity regarding the movement. It is my understanding from your website and facebook page that Occupy Chicago is also still active and having events and GA’s. Are they still regularly attended, and would it be possible for myself, or a member of the research team, to come to a GA? Hopefully we will have the resources to make the trip from Massachusetts to visit a number of occupations. The most important thing though is that I would like to make personal contact with someone from your city’s occupation. I would really appreciate it if you could email me back at OWS.Research.Capstone@gmail.com or, if you prefer more personal contact (as I do) give me a call at (484) 239-1965 any time of the day (or night). I will be able to answer any questions you have and hopefully you will be able to put me in contact with individuals that would participate in interviews or complete questionnaires. Thanks so much for your time, and I hope to talk to you soon.
