Laying the groundwork for a "General Strike" Oakland-style

Sorry if this has been/is being discussed elsewhere, but has the idea been tossed around to try and organize an Occupy-Oakland style "General Strike" in Chicago? The conditions are obviously different here, but we have a generally positive relationship with the public workers' unions and it might be something we could collaborate in building, while there are any number of ways we might conceive it. While we obviously don't have nearly the same level of popular outrage focusing on the police that catalyzed Oakland (which will only increase after today's police eviction of their occupation site), it's still a worthy project to pursue. I've been scarce at the GA meetings as of late, so any info anyone has would be appreciated, but I'll make it down to a GA sometime this week at any rate.

If this is the wrong forum to broach this topic, please direct me to the right place; otherwise, what do you guys think?
