Occupy Valparaiso joining Occupy Chicago for #d17

Our plan is to meet as usual in Valparaiso IN at Franklin & Lincolway on Saturday morning then around noon set out to join you all in Chicago at Jackson & Lasalle. I know you have keep your kids occupied and the free free market scheduled for decemeber 17th but are there any other events planned? I dont think we will be taking part in either of the planned events but I think it will be good for us to meet you guys and see how you do things. So far six have confirmed they are coming with me but many more have said they want to go.

Yes I came with 3 people and found only one person at hq. If I hadnt been with them the people who came with me would have thought that we were in the wrong place or that occupy chicago had given up and went home. Despite this I did stay and ended up having some good conversations and I made a proposal about new years eve at the evening General Assembly.

I was afraid that you were going to say that but glad that you did find someone. It has been a real issue to get people out to LaSalle and Jackson at certain times of the day, especially as it has gotten cold. There are a lot of Chicago people involved in different committee meetings every day but they are in various places around the city, it seems. On the other hand, there are some very dedicated people who do make a point to be there. Thank you for that!

I was at a Rogers Park (north Chicago neighborhood) GA last night and a woman who is frequently helping to hold down the fort at LaSalle and Jackson spoke out about the problem. OccupyChi people: I hope that you are reading this. Get there and help out if you can. There are some of you who are able to commit on a frequent basis and are downtown in various meetings and at GA. Please also be there at HQ to greet those that come to find us. We need you to be there.

Me, I live just north of the city and drive a half hour north to work five days a week. Getting into the loop is a special trip for me. I'd like to make it there more often myself, but it's difficult at times.

I have been disappointed about the handful of people that come out only for a couple hours at most in valparaiso. After working 40 hours I spend 6 hours of my saturday on a cold windy corner downtown usually with only one other person besides short visits from a handful of others. Going to Occupy Chicago really depressed me. You have 100x as many people following you on facebook but your presence in the belly of the beast is less?!?! I hope you guys can get your shit together, come up with a schedule or something.
