I have a 20 year history in the not for profit sector. In this economy donations only may not be the most expedient way for us to fund necessities like legal, medical or just plain helping members survive. I suggest we look at forming a social enterprise. Take a look at models like Mondragon (http://vimeo.com/8613408). We can begin with a simple web-based shopping mall of items (art work, hand crafts, 99% gear that can be made by local people who need work) in other words anything to launch a cooperative business model. Does anyone out there have access to local businesses who are willing to sell their wares on the OccupyShopSite. Thought about an Occupie baked for the holidays? Anyone selling on the site must donate a % to the cause. Keep in mind this is just a launch for maybe forming credit unions, cooperative model businesses, assisting local business to thrive and not bringing in another WalMart.
