Format Introduction

The purpose of the internal coordination committee is to oversee committee activities and to aid in the
organizational infrastructure, scheduling, and inter-committee communications. Furthermore we will
provide detailed analysis of the activities of Occupy Chicago so that we may properly augment our
efforts for the highest lever of efficiency and progress.

Format Introduction

This is a quick intro to project follow up which will list the expected responsibilities and duties, who you will be working with directly, and other information.

What is Format?
Format has to deal with the technicalities of our organizational structure and procedures. At times of uncertainty and confusion having solid, clear, and concise by-laws and procedures won't allow small bumps in the road to phase us so easily. By having an understanding of what the protocol is for a number of situations we can conquer the obstacle whether it be external or internal and return back to the main issue of creative solutions to social problems. As the movement progresses their will always be a need for revision and likely further implementation of new procedures or by-laws.

Who will you be working with directly?
Format is the exception to the rule, where it works independently from the flow of tasks in IC, but that does not mean that you will be working in complete autonomy. You will be working with each committee including IC, learning how they operate, what the critical path of communication is with the help of IC as to formalize their infrastructure. Just like in our GA there is no confusion on procedure and we are able to conduct business in an efficient manner. Format will be doing the same to help establish this with each committee.

What else do I need to be aware of?
Proper format, procedure, and structure, is the only real fail safe that Occupy Chicago and this movement can have. Although this won't be our actual constitution, it will lay the official ground work for operations meaning that wording is very important. Some examples for by-laws will be provided as guidelines but understand that each committee will vary in how they function so the actual structure of their by-laws and procedures will likely vary as well. All by-laws and procedures must be written with no assumptions such that anyone off the street can look at them and know completely what all the terminology means, and how we conduct business. Basically, assume nothing.
