For OC Press Liaison, pls read

Hello Press Liaison;

OWS today posted on its March To Washington D.C. page a very insulting posting. The post hardly shows a "working together" attitude and takes a huge swipe at a main support group -- people born before 1980. If OWS and OC and all of the occupies believe this to be a movement  of the young and only the young, it will lose an important segment of it's support core and it will damage greatly its image, mission and reputation. Such a post does not show an inclusive move for a better world. Instead, it screams out that this is for them, the young! I happen to be a journalist and could not help but send this post to many outlets -- traditional and non-traditional--I may have been born a bit before 1980, but I know the staff of MoJo and so many others. Yes, we elders are crafty at social media and tackled the internet long before many of you hit puberty. SHAME! Here's the post. You may want to think of a way to clean this mess up or counter it, it is truly ignorant. All best,

Occupy Wall Street: The March to Washington, D.C.

In case anybody was wondering...If our generation (people born between 1980-1995) actually got out of bed on election day and did what they should do, we would turn this political shit into a circus. We OUTNUMBER the baby-boomers, and THAT is why they try to keep us blinded with the media. They are afraid that we might change the world.

Curious. In what context did you find this posting? Was it something fished out of general comments or the like, or something more formal like a democratically approved statement by OWS.

I think that this may be just one person's voice.

I agree the post on the wall about the Washington march is inflamatory and contrary to the image we are trying to project. Someone with the authority to do so please remove the wall post!!!

Hey - this post is not in line with the guiding prinicples of the movement. I was born before 1980 myself.. it sounds like some bravodo from a youth feeling empowered, which is useful at times, but alienating when taken out of context. One note I will make is I work for the OC and I am on several committees and we have a lot of working groups that collaborate with OWS and this does not sound like the typical commentary we hear from that camp. Also, OWS is independent from OC - no single GA controls another so if this was an "official" post from OWS I know it does not represent the views of the collective OC.
