Currently in the arts&rec committee we are trying to decide on a Logo that represents OccupyChicago specifically. I.e. conveys the occupy movement as well as the fact that we are chicago.

Ideally we want something that is easy to print, so 1 or 2 colors, simple lines, etc.

I have been working on some things that incorporate the Chicago flag. Here's the link: https://picasaweb.google.com/115691518770795192048/OccupyChicagoLogos

Let me know what you think and if you have ideas or prototypes please post them here and come to the A&R meeting today at 3pm.

At 3 we will decide as a group which options we want to present to the GA, so be there or be square!

Thanks,

John

Official Occupy Chicago Logo

HEY JOHN.

i'm not sure if we should have an official logo. first, i kind of feel the very nature of having a logo is a little corporate. but more importantly, because we are a diverse group of people i think there should be various images that we use to represent us.

i also wouldn't want to infringe of others creative impulses to design or create images that depict what occupy chi means to them.

with that said, i do really love your design and i am totally behind producing and distributing it. i just don't want to restrict us to any one image, in order to prevent the branding of the movement.

I agree with this. People should be encouraged to just create anything they want to represent occupy. If anything the idea that everyone has their own ideas on the movement and how they would symbolize it, seems in itself symbolic.
