Flash Mob Freeze on May 1
I saw May 1 referred to in an email as "the day the earth stood still." In the cold-war film of the same name, an alien comes to earth and tries to tell world powers to stop the shit with the nuclear armaments, or they'll all be vaporized. A bit like Occupy, only the totalizing-threat of today comes from increasing corporatization.
Anyway, in the film, at noon, everything freezes (hence the title). Maybe Occupy Chi should think about doing a flash-mob-freeze at noon, too. Check out Improv Everywhere, a NYC group who pulled one off at Grand Central Station in 2007: http://improveverywhere.com/2008/01/31/frozen-grand-central/
The biggest flash-freeze was in Paris, with 3,000 people: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtUNj2BNTsU
Here's a poster I made if you want to take the idea up:

I started a thread in the Potential Proposals section, and was told this would be a good thing to do with A & R. Proposal thread: http://occupychi.org/phpbbforumforum/viewtop ... =10&t=2572
