Local band Miracle Condition wants to play Rocuppy, for FREE

Hello all, this is Sean from the Conflict Resolution committee. My roommates and I are all musicians, and have been discussing the possibilities for Roccupy. My good friend and roommate Mark Shippy is an amazing guitarist who has been a member of a couple of awesome local bands here in Chicago, as well as being big figure in the indie rock scene in the past ten years. My friends Mark, Matt, and Pat, Miracle Condition, are willing to donate a performance to Occupy Chicago, and are available to play Roccupy on December 18th, if the Arts and Rec committee would like them to do so. What's more is that they have performed at Metro a couple of times in the past, and are familiar with the ownership at Metro. You can sample one of their live performances at this youtibe link here. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri= ... _RQcwVfZlI They also agreed that they believe that the people in charge at Metro would be willing to negotiate with us on a better scenario, since Roccupy is a BENEFIT, and has the goal in mind of raising as many funds as possible for Occupy Chicago. They also support the idea of planning multiple events to take place at other venues, to help generate more funds, and to build greater support for Occupy Chicago. (E.G. We could have Tortoise play Union Park in the early Spring) Here in Chicago, and within this movement, we have a plethora of talented musicians, and excellent venues, so we should keep our minds open to every possibility that we could use to our advantage. These are local bands, yet are also professionals, who have toured around the world multiple times, as well as being progressive minded individuals. There are bands in every genre, who have their own local fan base, who would be willing to donate their efforts to the movement! We should try and achieve the best end result for Occupy Chicago by implementing the most cost effective solution for these events, with the greatest potential for profit and enjoyment for all.
