Hey tech,

How would I add a direct action meeting to the google calender?

I think right now, committee meetings are not on the google calendar (which shows up on the website as the Daily Schedule on the right side. And that's ok with me.

I was thinking last night about how to advertise committee meetings, times and locations. And my thoughts were:
tweet it
announce it at the GAs (so it gets in the minutes which are posted on the website)
put it on the committee pages.

So for example, for DA the committee page is:
http://occupychi.org/direct-action

I'm not totally sure, but I think if a point of contact person from DA gets together with tech, they can be given permission to edit the text on that committee website page. And I think keeping that updated with upcoming committee meeting details is a good idea. Right now, the text is just "Action!" but can be expanded...

For example, Education has edited their text: http://occupychi.org/education

That text is tied to the first sticky post in the committee's forum.

(How to get non-EducationalEvents (teach-ins) on the calendar.. like an Outreach Keep Your Children Occupied, or a Direct Action march on the google calendar is another topic, and I think that infrastructure in the website is being developed for committees to be able to post their own events. But to me those are different than committee meetings.)
