I would like to help in the organization of the development of a citizen written Bill of Rights with the leaders of all major occupy movements that can congeal a majority citizen issues, including but not limited to:

A right to quality national health care

A right to quality housing and affordable home and permanent land ownership

A right to be safe from any financial market products and organizations that devalues the market or causes undue risk to consumers

A right to political representation without the interference of lobbies political donations from special interest organizations

A right to a safe and clean air, water and environment

A right for only a person born of a natural live birth to be recognized as a person under the law

A right to fair wages, collective bargaining, and domestic job security

A right to be taxed in order of one’s means to contribute

A right to not enter into any war or military police action without proof of danger to the lives of Americans or unanimous support of all branches of government

Marriage rights, abortion rights, the right to holistic and alternative medicine… You see where I’m going with this! Greater minds will have to take it from here. I am obviously not a writer or a lawyer. And maybe people would collectively disagree with some of this. The point is that all the messages of the movement must be recognized and dealt with in a legal and non violent way.

New Citizen written Bill of Rights

Postby jarrod » Fri Oct 28, 2011 4:18 pm

I am a commercial diver/welder. I travel a lot for work. I have lived in Seattle, Louisiana, Oregon and am in Illinois for the moment. Really, I am another working class nobody that still believe that ordinary people are strong when united behind a common goal. The second bill of rights idea is a way to avoid creating or backing a political party. I hope that as citizens we can effect policy and create a broad spectrum of dramatic and peaceful change for everyone, regardless of any singular issue and without a politician. The leaders of the major occupy groups need to consolidate the most common issues and draft the new (additional) Bill of Rights. Once agreed upon, we can draft protesters for public, "civil change fasts". Not everyone can participate because of work or health issues but it will gain huge, world wide support. With a continues rotation of fasters and volunteer medical staff, the action will be sustainable and and peaceful. This is the goal, right?.... Take me to your leader! :)
