I believe that the Occupy Chicago website comments need to be monitored in order to provide a positive reflection of Occupy Chicago. Theere is too much negative trash posted that serves no purpose but to bring the public perception down.

FB monitoring may not be as critical, but I believe that our current state of having no moderation on comments on this website is a negative experience/turn off for people coming to the site for information, especially for the first time.

I believe that the Occupychi.org website needs to serve as a positive portal of information. I do understand the desire of not censoring content, but a differing opinion, and trashing and bashing, are two different things. Articles need to be approved by committees prior to posting, I believe, but comments can just fly any way that they please. I think that we need to consider how Occupychi.org represents to all of the 99% as they come forward looking for information.

Also, if a forum is to be utilized then someone(s) need to be gathering from that. Otherwise it is of no use. Current participants are looking to it as a souce of information and discussion and are also using it to hopefully participate in a meaningful way.

Website needs to be monitored

Advocating censorship is not appreciated - wanting others to read the forums is.  Just because someone has a different view than you doesn't mean you should try to censor them.
