Organize a day to Cancel Bank Of America accounts?

I think that some direct actions against some of the banks and corporations that our movement targets are well needed. Historically, boycotts and consumer activism have played major roles in revolutionary movements. Even if little financial damage is accomplished, the action still speaks. Often little is accomplished in the short term and the immediate goals of these outbursts are not achieved, but they still play a role in creating dissent.

    Perhaps OC could organize as many members, friends of members, and passerby's, whom have bank accounts of any type at Bank of America or Chase etc... to go to that bank at a specific time and close out their accounts. Even if it is 15 people it makes a statement. We should advertise it transparently for a week or two prior and make it as widespread as possible with grass roots advertising. I pick on B of A specifically, as they recently began charging customers 5 bucks a month just to use their debit card. Similar to the "move your money" initiative a while back...

the main issue with a large group going into the banks together is that it "disrupts business and creates a spectacle". that's how people get arrested and don't fulfill their goals. to be truly successful in closing bank accounts, it needs to be done on an individual basis. here is a link to a really excellent guide, from fearless revolution:
