a friend of mine and i will be going down tomorrow to clean up the graffiti that was left on roosevelt university. if anyone would like to help, we will be down there around noon – one. sponges and cleaning supplies welcome.

update:

because we do not have access to the paint used for this door, originally, we cannot fix this ourselves. because we do not know what cleaning solvents are the best option for not damaging the surface of the building, we cannot fix this ourselves. i have applied to:

the city of chicago

chicagoland graffiti removal

i am currently waiting for time estimates/cost estimates to come in. hopefully we can have this taken care of in the next couple of days. we need to take responsibility for this, regardless of who the culprit was. i should be hearing back by the end of the day.

I'm glad you're doing this. Thank you! graffitiblasters will paint over anything that's not on brick or stone. If you want to restore the doors to their original state the project gets more involved.Smile

The graffiti is already cleaned up.  We contacted the school and offered to help clean it but they'd already done it.  We asked for an invoice in order to cover the cost, but this is where the nonsense begins.  They sent us an invoice for roughly $800.  I'm sorry but I'm not willing to pay that much money for a door to be painted.  We'll have to carefully consider how we respond to this.  Frown

Tell them you need an itemized invoice before it can be paid.

we received not only the work order, with itemized things that needed to be fixed, but also a bill of sale. personally, i think it's really important to reimburse them. they have given us nonstop support throughout the past few weeks. we have thousands of dollars at our disposal right now, this is exactly the kind of thing we should be spending those donations on.

on a press note: if we do decide to reimburse roosevelt university, the action will make us look awesome with the media. it shows a great sign of faith that we are willing to take responsibility and make amends when things go awry. with the upcoming occupation this weekend, it's incredibly important we stay on top of our game.
