I propose we issue the following official statement:

We, Occupy Chicago, Support Julian Assange and Wikileaks.  Their release of diplomatic cables endangered no one, and helped lead to the Arab Spring by informing citizens in the region about their corrupt, US-backed dictators.  We believe in transparency, not state secrets.  We demand the US end all restrictions on donations to wikileaks.  We also demand that the United States call on European nations to end all politically-motivated prosecutions of Assange.

Wikileaks support

I don't think the 99% endorse wikileaks, and therefore we should not either.

Wikileaks support

We need to include support for Bradley Manning.  Without him none of this would be happening.

I think that the majority of the global 99% supports wikileaks, Assange, and Manning.

Wikileaks support

Agreed, why can't we examine what we need to first?
Money out of politics.  Then start hammering on other issues.  We have not come up with a way to do that.

Wikileaks support

First of all, I said global 99%.  You can't counter that with an article written by the corporate media that claims to have randomly surveyed 1,001 Americans.  Polls are incredibly misleading.  You cannot get an accurate reflection of American views from 1,001 people who happen to still have a land-line.  Having a home-phone implies privilege these days, because poor people tend to save money by only having a cell, be it prepaid or a monthly plan.

For one of many example of how the wording of a poll effects the answer that you get, check out this link: http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.....ferent.php

Most importantly, as long as our nation suppresses information, and those who would provide it to us, movements like ours will mostly just tread water.  We need both government accountability and transparency; otherwise, how do you even know that you have gotten money out of politics.

There is now simple algorithm for what we are trying to do.  I've said it before and I'll say it again: If you don't get a weed's roots it will only grow back again.

The manning issue is a 100% on point.   If Bush had imprisoned an american solider in their underwear in solitary confinement without charges America would have flipped.  He should be released immediately.

I also think most people support Wikileaks, this is a prime example of the media manipulating public opinion.  Assange and company have exposed tons of international crimes or shown how our elected officials most often do not act in the best interests of the population.  Its amazing that the focus of wikileaks has been weather or not their actions were criminal and not focusing on the crimes they exposed.
