Referendum

I'd like to see this country self-governed, as it was once meant to be - for the people, by the people.  In addition to the Senat and the Congress (which might as well be disbanded at this point being as useless as it is)
We need to  have a referendum, where people of this country would vote on certain issues. The results would be binding, would not be a subject of political horsetrading, or even presidential veto.  Yes, there is a risk, that some voters might base their beliefs on complete nonsense, but I believe in this country, and I think its citizens deserve more credit, than they are given, and common sense would prevail.  Case in point - over 70% of people in this country support raising taxes for the rich.


It would be so easy to do in the age of internet and lo and behold we would have a democracy.  To my eye that is the biggest problem with our democracy - we don't have any. We have corpocracy, that is destroying this country and its people in the name of the corporate profits.
