Funds for letter-writing supplies for NATO8 jail support
Jail support is an integral part of activist culture- a time when we struggle to accept and alleviate the burdens of imprisoned comrades. We should see the struggles of those less lucky than us, who fought the same battles, labored through the same long meetings, as our own.
Our Occupy brothers Brent Betterly, Jared Chase, Brian Church, Raziel Azuara, Christopher French, Yonte Harris,
Mark Neiweem, and Sebastian Senakiewicz, remain imprisoned, held on exorbitant bond fees and framed by Chicago Police Department. We march for them in our streets, fight for them in court, raise money to bail them out, visit them on their days, and work endlessly for their release or exoneration. Now, we are presented with another avenue to support them.
Join Occupy Chicago and our allies this Saturday, June 9, from 1-3 p.m. at 500 W Cermak room 501 where we will write letters of support, encouragement, and love to our friends still held captive by the state. It's all right if you don't know the NATO 8 personally and this is the perfect opportunity to become better friends.
We are the architects of a better world. We can make our friends' lives better simply by putting pen to paper.
Jail Support: NATO8 Letter-Writing Party needs $100 for paper, envelopes and stamps, and markers. These letter-writing parties will be ongoing, so any supplies that are leftover will be held until the next event.
