Occupy Chicago NATO zine Funding

As Occupy Chicago approaches the NATO summit it is more important that ever that we make distinct, effective means of outreach to newcomers. Specifically, we need to reach out to those traveling into Chicago from other cities and nations. In order to achieve this travelers will need easily accessible information on Occupy Chicago, The City of Chicago, and NATO actions and events. Currently this information is decentralized and the ability to access it is often esoteric, know only to those already engaged in Occupy Chicago.

To make this information more publicly available an Occupy Chicago FAQ working group has constructed a fluid, informative, intuitive FAQ. When printed out in zine format, this guide is 5 pages double sided. This zine covers information such as Occupy Chicago infrastructure, how to get involved, NATO plans and events, how to find housing, food resources, and all the information anyone would need to get involved in Occupy Chicago and NATO Plans.

In order to make this information available we are thus requesting $250 to immediately print approximately 500 copies of this zine. This zine will be distributed at Cermak, Occupy Chicago's NATO convergence space, and copies will be distributed to solidarity groups, such as CANG8. The zine will be distributed with a suggested donation of 50 cents to $1, to help recuperate printing costs. All money raised from donations will go back to Occupy Chicago. This zine will also be published online in a stickied front page post on occupychi.org.
