Procedural Amendment for Proposals at GA
To allow for the freedom of ideas to flow better I would like people to present their ideas for a proposal to the general assembly before it is posted on the website. This would be the first time these proposals/ideas would be presented. Who ever is presenting the idea for the proposal would have 1 minute to summarize and present to the General Assembly. (I know we normally have 5 minutes, but this should just be a brief synopsis of your idea). This would basically be a think tank. After the idea is presented a temperature check is taken. If there is a majority positive response (twinkle ups) it goes on the agenda for the next Voting General Assembly and the individual would formalize their proposal for presentation at the next Voting General Assembly and post it online. This allows people who agree with the idea to collaborate. If there is a majority negative response (twinkle downs) it does not go on the agenda for the next Voting General Assembly. This allows people to talk about why they disagree with a proposal and find out how to fix it. This also will save time and eliminate things from being presented to the General Assembly that will not pass.
There will be no stack taken on ideas for proposals. This can be discussed during our break out or after the General Assembly. These ideas would be presented on Non Voting General Assembly days. For a proposal to get to a Voting General Assembly it must be presented at a Non Voting General Assembly. This will also bring awareness to a possible proposal for those of us who do not check the website that often.
