Occupy Chicago Stands in Solidarity with the Occupy National Gathering

On June 2nd, the Occupy Chicago General Assembly voted to host an event on J4, "Occupy Independence" in Lincoln Park in Chicago. Our event has been planned in solidarity with the Occupy National Gathering (June 30-July 4), a meeting of Occupy groups from around the country. The conference includes a week of direct actions, movement building and the creation of a vision for a democratic future at Independence Mall, on 5th and Market in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Occupy Chicago believes that communities gathering to discuss ways we can all work together to bring about peaceful nonviolent change is a beautiful thing. Our GA recognizes this spirit within the messaging for #NATGAT and supports all groups working towards a better future.
