Occupied NewsAfter months of organizing, Occupy Evanston managed secure a Evanston City Council hearing and meeting with City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz on divesting from Chase bank. At the City council meeting this Monday, City Council members unanimously authorized the city manager to issue a request for proposals for a local bank that could replace Chase. Occupy Evanston is calling on occupiers to keep the pressure on the Evanston City Council members by calling and emailing them and letting them know that you support Occupy Evanston's campaign for the City of Evanston to divest its holdins in Chase Bank and shift them to a community bank. Occupy these Upcoming EventsQuebec Solidarity Rally & "Casserole" MarchWednesday June 27, 5:00PM-6:30PM On Wednesday June 27th, join Occupy Chicago as we bring the Quebec Solidarity message to DePaul's home base: Lincoln Park. This week we are asking everyone to wear red. And don't forget your pots and pans! The march will start at Sheffield and Belden, leaving at 5pm. With student loan interest rates set to double in America, it's time we take a stand for our future's, and a stand for education! Save Our Post Office RallyThursday, June 28, 4:30-6:30PM #J2 Occupy the #NATO5 Courtroom: ArraignmentMonday, July 2, 8:00AM-12:00PM Our friends remain locked away from this world because Mayor 1% Rahm Emanuel and Chief Garry McCarthy needed to justify police harassment, intimidation, brutality, and repression leading up to the NATO Summit. Our Occupy brothers Brian Church, Jared Chase, Brent Betterly, Sebastian Senakiewicz and Mark Neiweem will be in Cook County Court for their arraignment and we, as their comrades, will demonstrate our support. Wear yellow and bring noisemakers to show solidarity with their state-mandated prison uniforms. There will be a press conference at 8:30AM, court arraignment at 9:00AM, demonstration at 10:00AM, and then a 4:00PM rally in the afternoon at the US Prison Bureau.
