PACK THE COURTROOM IN SOLIDARITY FOR THE NATO PROTESTER CHRIS FRENCH

Chris French remains locked away from this world because Mayor 1% Rahm Emanuel and Chief Garry McCarthy needed to justify police harassment, intimidation, brutality, and repression leading up to the NATO Summit.

In a demonstration on the evening of Sunday, May 20, Chris was arrested along with several others in a barrage of police violence. In keeping with the precedent set leading up to and throughout the summit, the City of Chicago is using Chris’ political beliefs as an excuse to set his bail at $100,000. He is being charged with “aggravated battery on a police officer” and “resisting police.” His next court hearing is Wednesday, June 20 at 2:30 p.m. at Belmont and Western Cook County Court.

As Occupy personifies, this movement is about building, growing, connecting, and supporting one another while we labor for a better world. By attending Chris's hearing on j20, we are given an opportunity to demonstrate our greatest strength, our compassion to each other and for the world. We will showcase how Occupy Chicago and our allies stand in solidarity with one another and the state cannot stop us with their lies, entrapment, brutality, and intimidation.
