Can't make it down to Woodlawn? Want to help support the Mental Health
Movement? Flood the inboxes of Rahm and his cronies and tell them that
privatizing mental health and stripping communities is not okay. Below is
a form that will allow you to send an email to all 50 Chicago aldermen,
members of Mayor Emanuel’s staff, and other public officials throughout
Illinois in decision-making positions related to public mental health
care.

Occupy Chicago Weekly Orientation
Saturday, April 28, 2:00-4:00PM
Michigan&Congress, by the Bowman/Horse Statue (http://g.co/maps/b3ekg)

Inspired by the kickoff to Chicago Spring on April 7? Wondering how to get
more involved with Occupy Chicago? Then this event is for you! Occupiers
will be there to explain any and all questions: How can I get involved
with working groups? What are our demands? What do we have planned for
Chicago Spring?

We'll have a mix of newbies, occupiers and activists. Our hope is to give
the lay of the land, discuss the issues we all care about and get people
immediately connected to the groups and projects that they are most
passionate about. The American Spring is here! JOIN US!

Twitter Workshop
Saturday, April 28, 6:00-7:00PM
Woodlawn Mental Health Center, 63rd&Woodlawn (http://g.co/maps/zezgf)

Some veterans from our social media team will be hosting a workshop on
twitter. They’ll be going over all the basics you’ll ever need to know
along with various good tips for expanding your reach and follower base.
With mainstream media bought off by the 1%, it’s integral that we all step
up and become citizen journalists for the movement.

Weekly Street Tactics Training
Sunday, April 29, 1:00pm-2:00pm
Woodlawn Mental Health Center, 63rd&Woodlawn (http://g.co/maps/zezgf)

Inspired by a curriculum recently developed at #OWS,
we'll be going over a variety of fun and useful march tactics that will
better allow us to move intentionally in large groups in a highly
coordinated, unified, and militant manner while avoiding the violent
implications and hierarchical methods of the military.

People's Health Fair and Rally to #SaveOurClinics

Join us for an all day health fair and rally with healers, free blood
pressure screening and health education, music, poetry and powerful
testimonies from the brave people fighting to #SaveOurClinics. This
Saturday marks a week since Occupy Chicago has joined the Mental Health
Movement and its allies in setting up camp outside the Woodlawn Mental
Health Clinic and 9 days since they occupied the clinic, one of 6 mental
health clinics facing closure as a result of Mayor 1%'s budget.

Presidential Pardon for Clinics on Death Row
Monday, April 30, 11am-5:00PM
Obama Headquarters, 130 E. Randolph

Join us on Monday, the scheduled day for the closure of the remaining 4
mental health clinics, to ask President Obama to pardon our clinics and
the people who use them from the death that closure will mean.
